Administrative Map of the Province of Rizal

Honorable Gov. Casimiro A. Ynares III, M.D.Mabuhay !!! Welcome to Rizal Province !!!

This is a journey down to the path of showcasing the beauty of our province in the Internet through the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) Project PROV.NET, which attempts to capture in essence the lovely people of Rizal, its enchanting and beautiful places, culture and traditions, and the opening of a new horizon of unlimited opportunities in our province as a prime investment area in the Philippines.

The Province of Rizal is a land of vast resources, abundant water supply, untapped mineral resources, with access to markets and trade advantages, numerous tourism potentials, favorable peace and order climate, various investable and bankable industries, and skilled labor force.

Rizal has an estimated population of 1.7 million people as of Year 2000, with an annual growth rate of 5.8 percent. The predominant language is Filipino while the English language is used as the medium of communication in business and education. The literacy rate of household population ten years old and over is a high 98.5 percent. The province is composed of thirteen municipalities and one component city divided into three political districts and further subdivided into 187 barangays. Its total land area is about 130,383 hectares.

The proximity to Metro Manila makes Rizal a viable place for investments. The land is exciting in its diversity; large lowland areas are located on the western part of the province while gently rolling hills and a few rugged ridges form part of the southern foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountain range can be found in the eastern portion. Generally, Rizal has a climate highly favorable for industry, which is highly suitable for livestock, several high value commercial plantation crops and fruits. A relatively predictable climatic condition is very essential to proper cropping and production scheduling both for agriculture and industry.

A place proud of its people and respected in the community of provinces, our people have an inborn love for the arts, music and culture. Rizal is home to three national artists; Carlos "Botong" Francisco and Vicente Manansala, for the arts, and Maestro Lucio San Pedro, in the field of music.

In the spirit of optimism and confidence, this message is an expression of welcome to those who may venture to come where the pastures are ever verdant and opportunities abound. A quest for grassroots development which hopefully will serve as catalyst and contribute to the progress and development of the province.

I enjoin you to browse our website and find out why Rizal should be the place for you.
